CheeseWeb - Created by an expat couple from Canada, the site is rich in tips and advice on where to go, what to see, eat, drink and how to make the best of your life here in Belgium. The “Expat Life” category brings us great articles on topics ranging from pension planning, applying for Belgian nationality, hospital and emergency visits, work to fairs and festivals. There’s also a generous list of useful resources: news, culture, tourism, public services.
Blog Expat and Easy Expat - Blog Expat is a directory of blogs from expats all over the world. I love reading their stories and seeing things through different perspectives. It also features interviews, discussion forums, Twitter roundups and on Easy Expat you can find helpful guides that include accommodation, healthcare, education, finding a job, entertainment and more. The articles date from a couple of years ago, they might need some updating, but they’re still useful.
Internations is different. It’s a network where you can connect and become part of a community. They have frequent events and meet-ups organized by city, so you can go out and meet other expats! They also have a cool blog.
Fans of Flanders – It’s a very fun and diverse page. From blogs (where I made my debut last week with this post about learning Dutch) to videos in many different and curious topics, TV episodes, language tips with Chris and giveaways (I won two tickets to a museum in Gent once!), it’s a must follow.
