Oh, boy! These prompts have got me obsessing!
Day 13: What three things would you most like your website to have and how will you go about getting them?
I have been blogging since 2009 when I first left Brazil. It was just a way to journal about my life abroad, trips and lessons, to share my experiences and keep in touch with family and friends.
I enjoyed it so much and got some good feedback about my writing that I kept going on and learning more and more about it.
This year I decided to take blogging more seriously and have been studying social media marketing, effective writing, design, engaging and finding my “tribe”.
I moved from Blogger to Weebly and got my own domain name. I tweaked around and came up with a design that’s cute and neat, but I already have new ideas playing in my mind.
For now, I’m doing it all myself and learning on the go. The moment I can afford it, I might get web design, a nice cute header or even a brand. Just not yet.
The most important things I want my web home to have are:
I am very proud of what I’ve already done in a few months: new site + e-book and all I’ve learned from other bloggers, e-books and courses. However, I know I want to take it to a new level and I’m working on it (studying and brainstorming).
For the moment, I’ll do what works best for me, my situation and my pocket.
Day 14: What are two key ways you could use the habits of a millionaire to monetize your blog in the next month?
In the podcast interview, Jaime Tardy points out two of the habits millionaires have in common: they keep moving forward and they don’t let their excuses stop them. As she said:
“Success is a process, not an event”.
It takes a lot of work, trials and errors until you get where you want to be. You learn a lot in the process and that prepares you for success and abundance.
This is a lesson and mindset we should bear at all times, otherwise it’s easy to give up and conform and go on feeling unfulfilled. It’s easy to believe in the excuses you make for not trying harder or taking a leap – “I don’t have enough time”, “I don’t have money for that”, “That’s too farfetched and nobody supports me”. Bullshit. Even though they may hold some truth, it is perfectly possible to overcome them.
So, I am going to shake off the dust of discourage and excuses and keep blogging. I’ll keep building connections. I’ll keep writing guest posts. I’ll keep hanging out in forums. This will help me build up my community.
I’ll keep learning more about writing and marketing. I’ll promote my book often. I’ll create a new product or start offering classes. I’ll take my Affiliate marketing more seriously. That will – hopefully – kick start the flow of my income streams.
Truth is, the process is slow and frustrating at times, but I love it and I’ll keep on doing it even if I don’t make a dime. But! I know it’s doable and I’m on my way to start making money online and one day make my living like this!

- Awesome and useful content – I want to share about living as an expat, Belgium and growing up to be an adult and I hope to send out helpful information for people who are on the same boat as me;
- Clear communication of what it’s all about so anyone who lands on my page can immediately know if they belong here;
- My own services and products and a more professional air to it.
